We're always looking across the waters.
Wondering what's on the other side.
But what we should be doing
Is piloting our ship,
And praying it endures the tide.
What is Success ?
Success isn't when they cheer and crown you.
Nor when you cheer and crown yourself.
It's when God says, "Well Done" .
A New Day
The day is dawning and why not?
Darkness ruled the night.
I can see now--somewhat dimly.
But Look! There is the Light!
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalm 30:5b)
This year I'll do better...
I'll love and I'll care
And whatever I'm blessed with
I'll generously share.
I won't be judgmental
But I will stand for the right...
So that with clearness of conscience,
I can rest through the night.
I won't ask for much..
Just grace for the day.
And by my bedside at night,
I'll kneel quitely and pray.
Chicken Little said, "The world is falling!"
Goldielocks ran away from it all.
The three little pigs wanted a house of brick.
Cinderella-she went to the ball.
Tom Sawyer wanted adventure.
The ugly duckling was a white swan.
Bro. Rabbit was an eloquent con man.
The red hen--she worked until dawn.
And all along, I sat there mapping
The direction of my flight,
I dreamt of earthly kingdoms
And castles golden bright.
And while I sat there dreaming,
The devil sought my soul.
I would have died a wonderland worshiper, But Christ reset my goals.
LOOK TO THE HILLS
Lord help me to be what you want me to be-
I can't make it on my own.
I need you more and more each day
To help me carry on.
Sometimes this road I'm traveling
Gets awful lonely and rough,
But, Lord, help me to do your will,
And let patience build me up.
Lord, help me to wait on you.
For, I know somewhere up the road,
You'll relieve my burdens,
And take off this heavy load
Which is weighty and tiresome
And ails my aching back.
Oh Lord, help me to do your will.
And keep me on the track-
That straight and narrow path
Which leads to Heaven's door
And I will praise your Holy Name
Now and forevermore.
I hear a voice deep within me
Saying, "Son do not despair".
I heard your cry in Heaven
I know what you can bear
So, when you kneel and pray,
Remember that I care,
I am with you always,
And I hear your prayer.
Be still my child and wait on me
And I will dry all tears from your eyes,
For I know how much you love me
And how much thou soul hast cried.

When I was one -and-ten
I heard my father say,
"Son, always think before you speak,
Be humble when you pray,
And remember to read your bible,
Plant God's words deep within.
"Goodness and Mercy is comforting
When one's engrossed by sin".
When I was one - and-twelve
My father said to me,
"The mouth is a tool of self-destruction
When used foolishly.
Don't let your mouth rule your head!
Don't voice everything you hear!
When you speak, speak the Truth...
But first, use the ear!
When I was one - and - fourteen,
My father passed away.
And his loving words of wisdom
Deprated me that day.
When I was five - and -twenty,
I was a sightless fool;
My ears were closed to wisdom-
The streets had been my school;
Fear had enveloped my soul;
Sin had warped my brain;
I was trapped in the demonic world
Of the rational -insane.
"Ask Jesus to come into your life".
I heard a quiet voice in my stupor say,
And I knew that there was hope.
So I humbled myself to pray.
And like the prodigal son,
I was fed with Truth that day.
"In my father's house are many mansions..."
My father in scripture used to quote to me.
And now I can reap the fruits he sowed;
The Truth has set me free!
A Christian March
March on fellow soliders
Though the way be tough ahead
And all along the road
Stack the corpses of the dead.
In the land of Egypt
Where the Nile stretched in blue
A man would sweat and perish
In bondage for being a Jew.
In the Roman arena,
Beneath a Heavenly blue sky
People fed the lions
But the Christians had to die.
In the heart of the jungle,
Deep within pagan lands,
Fearless men of God crumbled
With the Bible in their hands.
But weep not for your fallen brothers
For they did not really die.
Their flesh decayed into dust,
But their spirits sought the sky!
Behold those crimsoned corpses
stacked in piles along the way.
The spirits are not in them;
They are with the Lord today!
In the land of Jerusalem
On a hill called Calvary
The Son of God gave his life,
And from death set us free.
Let's not be afraid to follow HIM
Christian Army Band.
Let's march onward trusting HIM,
And He'll lead us into a land
Where everywhere one looks
Overfloweth with milk and honey
And streets are paved with glistening gold
Beneath skies forever sunny.
I know you are tired
And the journey is long.
And it seems as though now
You can't go on.
But don't give up
For just up ahead
There's a flowing stream
And a resting bed.
I know you have tried--
You can't crack the door
And your hopes and dreams
Lie crushed on the floor.
But don't give up
Pick up your broken dreams
Keep knocking on the door...
There'll be a brighter scene.
by Evangelist Robert L Shepherd Jr
There Is A Light In The Darkness
Shine on Beacon in the gloom of night,
Splitting the darkness with thy radiant light,
For there is a ship out on the sea
Tossed by the waves of dark destiny.
The Light in the light house
We must let it shine
For souls on the ship
Are drifting and dying
And if the Light goes out, the ship on the sea
Will dash against the rocks and break in pieces, you see.
We can't let it go out; don't you understand?
Without the Light in the Light House....
The ship won't reach land.
Many souls are drifting on a cold angry sea
Down a Broadway of darkness to eternity.
But there is hope, yet burning and bright
For at the light house, shineth the Light!

Do you ever dream among the skies
With wondering staring up-cast eyes
And in that dream most pure and high
You seek the Lord to ask him why?
Why clouds sometimes appear
And fill the heart with doubts and fear,
Or thunders shudders and shakes the sky
And mighty winds go soaring by.
Why on a peaceful night.
The stars sparkle in raiments bright,
And the moon cast upon the earth
The silent beauty of her birth.
Why do raindrops fall
Or snow arrives at winter's call.
And why does lightning streak the sky
And vanishes from the watchful eye.
Why is the sun so full of light
Or birds sail the air in flight,
Whispering a soulful note
That only God could have wrote.
And why is man born to die
Why Lord, tell me why.
"Be still" echoes a still small voice
"Be still"and know that I am God.
The clouds of life hold the rain
That waters our faith and makes it grow.
The lightning flashes out the name
Of the God who weaves the snow.
The thunder rumbles in the sky to let us know that He's awake
And the stars sparkle upon high,
"Cause Christ came & died for his people's sake.
The sun shines so warm and bright
To remind us of the Savior's Light
And birds sing so sweet and clear
To let us know that God is near.
And man is not born to die
Death is but a devil's lie
For death only sets one's spirit free,
For the judgment of eternity.
In the dark corridors of your mind
Knock, seek, and you will find
God's truth which is a light,
Beaming , shining forever bright
For God loved the world so much, you see
He gave His Son for you and me.
"Be Still" echoes the Maker's voice
"Be Still" and know that I am God".
"It's too late--We are dead
To change the arrogant life we have led.
If only we had one more day on earth
To rid ourselves of pride and human lust,
To make our darkest sins as clear as the clearest day.
"Friend, I wish we had another chance too--
To rid our Souls of earthly rue,
But we knew when we were yet men alive
That through Christ ...was our only hope--
Our only way to survive.
We cannot relive the past, what is done is done.
Nor can we cease the setting of the sun.
We cannot un-break the smallest stick.
No hope, my friend, we cannot get such a wish.
Both Heaven and Hell were at our hand--
Hell was our pick.
